Beaches

Cala Brandinchi

A real jewel on our coast, Cala Brandinchi is renowned for its layers of bright, striking colours. Shallow waters, fine sand, a pine forest backdrop and a dense mass of juniper bushes make up the landscape.

Brandinchi beach boasts spectacular views of the island of Tavolara on the horizon. Just like many other beaches in this region, there is a lagoon area a little further inland.
It’s even been dubbed ‘little Tahiti’ for its beauty.

There is a car park close to its splendid pine forest, and the beach is suitable for families with children.

Cala Girgolu and its coves

Cala Girgolu – unmissable

A continual encounter with intimate coves, pink granite cliffs shaped by the winds, the perfumes of the Mediterranean scrub and turquoise clear waters: Cala Girgolu is exhilarating.
Wonderful paths lead you from one cove to another, alternating between being close to the water and being among the fragrant myrtle and the majesty of the island of Tavolara that fills the sky.
The pristine lagoon is home to a variety of animal species, including the pink flamingo that sometimes stops here during its seasonal journey. A small wooden bridge completes the picturesque image of this splendid beach.
Cala Girgolu is the site of the famous Tortoise-shaped rock, which was the result of thousands of years of wind erosion, but which was unfortunately lost through the actions of man.

Points of interest
The panoramic point houses the still well-preserved structures of a military garrison dating back to the Second World War. The garrison was strategically important for sighting allied air forces by means of equipment such as the famous aerophone (a rudimentary radar based on the amplification of the sounds produced by the engines of planes).
